I was really hoping Edge of Tomorrow would win the top spot this weekend so I’d be able to put Lady Gaga lyrics into this post, but sadly that didn’t come to pass. Now I’m just left with all of these useless “All You Need is ___” jokes. Instead the surprisingly awesome The Fault in Our Stars understandably raked in $48 million due to its huge fanbase.
Rounding out the top three are Maleficent with $33 million and Edge of Tomorrow with $29 million. That’s a good performance since it’s not a sequel or a reboot of anything. Then again, same can be said of Fault, so whatever. Hit the jump for the box office performances for the June 6-8 weekend.
