Captain America: The Winter Soldier may not be the best movie, but it’s a great follow up to The First Avenger and it’s going to be especially hard for future Marvel films to top. Given that The Winter Soldier set a new record for April weekend openings this past week (raking in over 96 million), everyone else seems to agree on this.
Unfortunately, this means that every other film suffered. Just look at the number two film, Noah, at 17 million. Man that’s such a huge difference. I expect this to hold for another week as nothing too big won’t release until May.
Hit the jump for the box office numbers for the April 4-6 weekend.
