Another week, another look at the box office numbers. Once again, Rise of the Planet of the Apes has topped the charts. Surprisingly, it’s proving to be the little prequel/reboot that could. Final Destination 5 and 30 Minutes or Less made decent enough debuts, coming in at 3rd and 5th, respectively. The Help and Glee the 3D Concert Movie also made surprising debuts, but for different reasons. Who would have known a film based on a novel focusing on race relations in Civil Rights-era America would find such an audience that it did. On the other hand, where are all the Gleeks at? I thought it had a very strong and devoted following…
I had the chance to see 30 Minutes or Less this past weekend with the amazing Liz Rugg and new Flixist writer, Allistair Pinsof. It was a good night for us and a good weekend for films in general. Let us now reflect on the weekend that has just past.
