You’ve made the right choice America. Unlike China (whose country allowed Transformers: Age of Extinction to become its highest grossing film ever), you went to see the better Summer film. Plus, it has monkeys who also talk so it’s pretty much a win win. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes deservedly took the top spot with $73 million, Transformers: Age of Extinction lags in second with $16 million, and Tammy rounds out the top three with $12 million.
I hope that orangutan named Maurice turns out to be Dr. Zaius. Hit the jump for the box office performances for the July 11-13 weekend.
