Over the weekend, the video game-laden Wreck-It Ralph wrecked the competition by raking in an astounding $49m. In comparison, the second place film, Flight, made only $25m. It’s good to see that a non-Pixar CGI Disney film could actually be critically and commercially successful. Of course, I’d like to go out on a limb and pinpoint Sonic the Hedgehog’s cameo in the film as being the driving force behind the film’s success. I mean, he’s the greatest video game character that isn’t a rapping dog or blue robot, right?
