In an interesting turn of events, last week’s top film, The Amazing Spider-Man, was dethroned by this weekend’s newcomer, Ice Age: Continental Drift. Of course, this could simply be a product of Spider-Man‘s early release scooping up more eyes throughout the week as opposed to the weekend numbers which the stats track. Given the fact that Spider-Man recently surpassed the $200m, its surprising second place finish isn’t cause for concern.
At least, until The Dark Knight Rises premieres this Friday.
