Don’t say I didn’t warn you. The Daily Mail is reporting that Christoph Waltz, who was recently revealed to be cast in the upcoming Bond 24 is likely to be playing Bond’s archrival Ernst Stavro Blofeld. I mean, who else was he going to play. The man is perfect for the role, though as of now the producers are saying he’ll be playing Franz Oberhauser, son of the late Hans Oberhauser, a ski instructor who acted as a father figure to Bond.
In case you aren’t a Bond fanatic, Blofeld hasn’t been featured in a Bond film for over 30 years due to issues with the character’s rights not being in MGM’s control. All that was taken care of last year opening the door for him to return to the Bond franchise. Looks like we’ll be going even more back to basics than Skyfall took us with this next Bond film, though the source says that Blofeld is being worked to fit better into this current iteration of Bond’s world.
