Set to release April 4th next year, Captain America: The Winter Soldier has finally started production. With this news is the press release featuring the first image for the film (above), a summary, and a full cast list:
Captain America: The Winter Soldier will pick-up where Marvel’s The Avengers left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.
And here’s the entire cast of characters:
Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow and Georges St-Pierre as Georges Batroc. Rounding out the talented cast are Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Toby Jones as Arnim Zola, Emily VanCamp as Agent 13 and Maximiliano Hernández as Agent Jasper Sitwell.
Holy Murica! Crossbones, Batroc the Leaper, Winter Soldier and Peggy Carter! Captain America: The Winter Soldier is going to rule. And I love how Marvel is aiming for actors outside of the normal bubble. I would never expected St. Pierre to play Batroc in a million years! What do you all think of the news? Are you hyped? Expect more production information in the next few months.
