By Christian Bale is all set to join the MCU in what has every chance to be an entirely wasted performance. Bale has been cast to play the villain, Gorr the God Butcher, in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, and as is usual for Marvel films he’ll probably be underutilized. Still, an underutilized Bale vamping around like Cate Blancett did in Thor: Ragnorok isn’t all bad.
The film hasn’t started filming yet but will begin in January and Bale will be joining Chris Hemsworth who is coming back for his fourth outing as the hero. Alongside them will be the film’s director, Taika Waititi, returning to the charming role of Korg and Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie. Even bigger is the final return of Natalie Portman to the franchise, who is said to at some point take on the mantle of Thor himself. Finally, Chris Pratt is confirmed to be coming back as Star Lord as well for the film.
Thor: Love and Thunder is currently scheduled to release on February 11, 2022.
