By Chuck Norris has roundhouse kicked any chance of a career revival square in the face with the news that he’s an utter, utter wuss. A big deal was made of his appearance in Expendables 2, but it now looks like it came at quite a cost: specifically, the movie’s balls.
Norris stated in an interview that he refused to be a part of the movie so long as the screenplay contained ‘vulgar dialogue’ which would mean ‘many young people wouldn’t be able to watch this.’ In a move confirmed on AICN by Sylvester Stallone, the movie’s cursing has now been expunged and the rating dropped from R to PG-13. I don’t think you need me to tell you the myriad idiocies in Norris’ reasoning, let alone the idea that ‘young people’ were ever among the target audience for Expendables, whose appeal relies on familiarity with veteran action stars and a return to a more hardcore style of action movie. Stallone should have told Norris to stick it, which Norris would have meekly accepted because it’s clear he left his balls behind in the ’80s.
