After the massively surprising success of Jurassic World Universal basically greenlit Jurassic Park movies until the end of time, so it should come as no surprise that Jurassic World 3 is already in the works despite Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom not having been released yet. And one of the main factors in that has been confirmed, director Colin Trevorrow will be returning for the third film in the trilogy after J.A. Bayona took over from him for the second.
Stephen Spielberg confirmed the news to EW, and I’m not sure if I should be surprised or not. I’m sure the studio offered him big bucks to come back, and one wonders if they don’t think Bayona did as good a job. With Trevorrow once again co-writing the screenplay maybe its just easier for all involved.
