Concept art from the scrapped Darren Aronofsky-led Batman: Year One adaptation were recently unearthed by the Comic Book Movie guys. The images (which are in the gallery below) show a much more realistic, down-to-earth take on Batman than what we’ve grown accustomed to. Knowing Darren Aronofsky’s vision, a Batman film from the Black Swan director would have been an interesting take on the superhero.
Of course, WB chose to go with Christopher Nolan’s version of Bruce Wayne, leading to one of the most successful (and critically-acclaimed) superhero trilogies of all-time. Will Aronofsky ever get a chance to direct a comic book film adaptation? With his somewhat recent luck… probably not.
