By After all the drama that surrounded the announcement that Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham would be making a Fast and Furious spin-off based on their two characters, you’d be forgiven if you thought the project might have died. But it has not, and with the news that David Leitch is the front runner to direct the film it just got a whole lot more awesome.
Leitch was a stuntman, but he burst onto the scene with John Wick, and then went ahead and burst onto a few more scenes with Atomic Blonde, and then firmly entrenched himself in all the scenes by directing the upcoming Deadpool 2.
Yea, he could make this spin-off really awesome. Especially with Statham’s action chops. The actor really hasn’t been in a film in a while that’s shown off just how good he can be in fight sequences, but Leitch could deliver him so really incredible ones. Let’s hope he actually lands the job.
