Riding on the momentum of his critically acclaimed (and Oscar nominated) Silver Linings Playbook, director David O. Russell’s next project has a December release date, seeing limited release on the 13th and then opening wide on Christmas day.
It doesn’t have a title yet, but we do know it stars a reunion of actors the director has worked with in the past, including Bradley Cooper, the lovely Jennifer Lawrence, Christian Bale, Jeremy Renner, and one of my favorite comedians ever, Louis C.K. The film itself will be based on the true story of two con artists who are forced to work with a tightly wound federal agent to capture other criminals. It’ll be much more dramatic than that, I’m sure, otherwise how will he put the talent of that wonderful cast to good use?
