By As with the Jim Carrey/Adam Sandler murmurings this bit of news is being slapped with a big rumor on it, but word has come that David Tennant is in talks to join the cast of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy as Rocket Raccoon. Having cast the rest of the main cast with the likes of Zoe Saldana and Chris Pratt Rocky Raccoon is the only lead role that hasn’t been announced yet.
I don’t know all that much about Guardians of the Galaxy as a comic book, but one thing I do know that is Tennant, better known as the 10th Doctor, is perfect for any role ever. If this casting turns out to be true it will completely solidify my faith that this movie is going to be nothing but awesome. A strong director, a strong cast and a bit of divergence from the main Marvel storyline is making this shape up to be something special in a world now cram full of comic book movies.
