Dear Mr. Watterson trailer explores Calvin and Hobbes

I actually know a person who doesn’t like Calvin & Hobbes. Sometimes I think he may be Satan himself. It’s possible. There’s just something magic about the boy and his stuffed tiger that never gets old. The strip aren’t just funny, they’re touching and insightful and any time you sit down and start reading them you’re suddenly sucked into a fantastic world.

What you may not know is that Bill Watterson pretty much gave birth to an entirely new generation of cartoonists who thought differently of cartooning. He strong armed his way into getting papers to print in different formats and staunchly refused to turn his creations into merchandise. While Dear Mr. Watterson doesn’t look like anything more than a bunch of talking heads, it’s got to be one of the most interesting group of talking heads I’ve ever seen.
