Guillermo Del Toro is officially returning to horror as Crimson Peak, his upcoming haunted house film, has gotten an April 2015 release date. The movie has been collecting up a fantastic cast like Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hidleston, and will be quite the departure from Del Toro’s mega-blockbuster Pacific Rim.
THR broke the news, and initially reported that the new title of the film was Haunted Peak, but thankfully that was corrected because that is a really terrible title. Del Toro has been talking up Crimson Peak for a while now, and it looks to tap into his previous horror work like Pan’s Labyrinth by being a legitimate adult horror that cares about its characters and actually being scary more than blood. As a guy who came out of Pacific Rim a bit let down I can’t wait for this to roll around.
