By OHMYGOD you guys, Johnny Depp and Tim Burton are making a movie together! That’s, like, the most perfect pairing! And original too!
Tim Burton is working on an adaptation of Dark Shadows, a gothic soap opera that ran from 1966-1971. It featured a lot of supernatural themes, monsters, time travel, and a lot of other fairly crazy things. Johnny Depp is set to play vampire Barnabas Collins, which is a bit of a dream come true for him, as Depp has apparently been obsessed with playing Barnabas for years.
The biggest problem here is that it creates an issue with another of Johnny Depp’s projects, Kathryn Bigelow’s Triple Frontier. What would you rather see, Flixiscians: Johnny Depp in another commercially-dark Tim Burton picture, or a movie from the people behind The Hurt Locker about Latin American crime syndicates? Of course, the true question here is whether or not we’ll see Helena Bonham Carter in this magnum opus. Eh, probably not. What do I know?
