During Disney’s investor’s call, the company announced a myriad of new shows and projects, one of which being a new television series based on Ridley Scott’s seminal film, Alien. The series will be helmed by Noah Hawley, who has worked on several FX series including Legion and Fargo. This will be the first Alien installment since 2016’s disappointing Alien: Covenant.
In fact, Disney announced several shows that will be a part of their “FX on Hulu” block of shows. All of these series will naturally premiere on Hulu, though release dates for some of these shows are unknown. The complete list of new FX series premiering on Hulu are as follows:
- The Old Man, starring Jeff Bridges.
- American Horror Stories, a spinoff of American Horror Story that will serve as an anthology series. AHS creator Ryan Murphy will be involved in some capacity.
- The Platform, an anthology series from The Office’s B.J Novak.
- Reservation Dogs, a comedy series by Taika Waititi about four Native American teenagers growing up on a reservation in Oklahoma.
- Y: The Last Man, a drama series based on the comic book by Brian K. Vaughn (Saga) and starring Diane Lane of A Little Romance.
- Shogun, an adaptation of James Clavell’s acclaimed novel “Shogun” by Justin Marks (The Jungle Book).
In related news, FX has also confirmed that The Handmaid’s Tale has already been renewed for a fifth season ahead of its fourth season release.
