Along with all the Star Wars and live action reboot first looks, last weekend’s D23 Expo also revealed a good amount of Disney’s in the works projects. One of the more exciting to pop out was Disney Animation’s next film, Gigantic. After Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph, Frozen, and Big Hero 6 have done so well, they’ve earned my blind hope for their projects.
Directed by Tangled director Nathan Greno and music by the awesome Robert (who’s earned an EGOT within a single decade) and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (who still rule the world with the Frozen soundtrack), Gigantic takes place in Spain during the exploration age where Jack becomes friends with a giant 1 year old princess. I love everything about the premise, and I’m hoping the Spanish setting leads to more Latin roots for the film. I’ve been waiting forever for a Spanish-infused Disney film and I hope this is it.
