It’s nice to know Dreamworks Animation isn’t just relying on sequels to fill the old coffers. Granted, this item isn’t about a completely original concept, but it’s still blowing my mind right now.
Dreamworks has announced plans to make a CG animated feature, in 3D of course, based off a Krofft Brothers TV show from the 1970s called Lidsville. Lidsville is, as the above picture shows, a terrifying vision of an alternate future, where a sole surviving human is forced to survive in a terrible world where our own hats have decided that, as they sit on our heads, they should sit above all. Series themes included self-cannibalism, survivalist theory, and top hats. Seriously, though, the kid has adventures with the talking hats. There is also an evil magician called Horace J. HoodDoo that causes assorted mischief. It only ran for a dozen episodes.
This looks more deeply insane than H.R. Pufnstuf. I am so seeing this movie.
