Shudder has the lock on one of the most compelling horror docu-series of recent memory with Cursed Films, an exploration of the stories that surround some of the most dangerous and tragic moments from the production of horror classics.
As someone who has grown up hearing more than a few of these urban legends, it’ll be interesting to delve into them in more detail and find just where the truth lies. Some–like that Hooper and company used real skeletons for Poltergeist, because they were cheaper than fake ones–I kind of took for granted as fact without a second thought. It’ll be neat to find out that I’ve been wrong my whole life.
You can expect horror icons like Linda Blair and Kane Hodder to give us the facts on the behind-the-scenes catastrophes that spurred rumors of curses within films like The Crow and The Omen.
Shudder is set to release episodes on Poltergeist, The Omen, and The Exorcist on April 9, with future episodes focusing on The Crow and Twilight Zone: The Movie reaching the streaming service on April 16, 2020.
