Explore the great outdoors with James Wan in The Troop

James Wan is just becoming more and more prolific in Hollywood, between his DC gigs and the Wan-verse, the Conjuring-led slate of horror films he’s directed and produced; I’m coining the term now, feel free to use it. Carving a bloody name for himself, Wan looks to add upcoming horror film The Troop to his producing credits.

Based on a book by Nick Cutter, the film will chronicle a “group of teens on a remote camping trip who must fend for themselves when their adult chaperone falls prey to an aggressive otherworldly infection.” Lovely! EL Katz (Small CrimesCheap Thrills) is set to direct a script by Noah Gardner and Aidan Fitzgerald.

With a new horror project, the inevitable Aquaman 2, and a Mortal Kombat film to keep tabs on, Wan’s got a lot in the pipeline. Hopefully his presence is felt in his numerous producer-projects. It wasn’t enough to save the show, but DC’s Swamp Thing is certainly a testament to the quality Wan can bring to a project. Fingers crossed for The Troop.
