If you’re at all like me, you’re a bit wary of the Netflix original series that the company tries to shove down your throat. Don’t get me wrong, there are lots of Netflix series that are great, but for every Stranger Things or House of Cards, there’s a a Flaked. Or a Fuller House. Please, don’t even get me started on The Ranch. Yet despite this, there are a handful of shows from Netflix that caught me off guard, and cemented themselves in my heart. One of those shows is F is for Family, which just got renewed for a Season 3.
This news comes about a month after the debut of the shows second season. Comedian Bill Burr, who co-created the show with Michael Price, announced on Twitter that Netflix renewed the series for a Season 3.
Really happy to announce there will be a season 3 of FIFF. Thanks to everyone for watching! @netflix #FIsForFamily #gaumontTV pic.twitter.com/YVowj4j7yE

And boy, does that make me happy. If there’s such a thing as a hidden gem amongst Netflix’s original programming, F is for Family is it. This 70s comedy is anything but nostalgic for the time-period, actively criticizing and mocking facets of American culture. It also doesn’t hurt that Bill Burr himself, as well as Laura Dern and Justin Long, all lend their voices to the project. The humor can be dark one minute, and the next, pull it back for a heartfelt moment. It has a strange ebb and flow to it that is simultaneously hilarious and yet, tangible. F is for Family can’t be put in a box, and that’s just one of the things that excites me for a new season.
