Well that didn’t take long at all. Yesterday we mentioned that the reboot of The Crow is moving forward after a long legal battle was settled. They may not have had a writer or director when we reported the news yesterday, but gosh, what a difference a few hours makes. As of now, Spanish director F. Javier Gutiérrez is on board as director, while Jesse Wigutow is finalizing a deal to pen the script.
Gutiérrez’s only feature-length film thus far is Before the Fall (Tres Días), an apocalyptic thriller about the final 72 hours before a catastrophic meteor strike. Wigutow’s only completed feature-length writing credit is the un-Crow-like It Runs in the Family. I’m just hoping that Trace Beaulieu or Bill Corbett get cast as the lead.
After the cut I’ve included the trailer to Gutiérrez’s Before the Fall as well as his short film Brasil.
