Fans of the Harry Potter spin-off series Fantastic Beasts will have to wait a while for the third of five planned films as Warner Bros. today has announced that the third film will release on November 21, 2021. Warner Bros. President Ron Sanders released a statement to go along with the announcement:
J.K. Rowling created an awe-inspiring universe that has captivated people of all ages, taking us on an extraordinary magical journey. Warner Bros. is so proud to be the cinematic home of the Wizarding World and is excited about the future of the Fantastic Beasts franchise.
In a separate statement Toby Emmerich, the chairman of the Warner Bros. Film Company said that the far-off date would “give the filmmakers time and space to allow their artistry to truly flourish and deliver the best possible film to our fans.”
Harry Potter writer and world famous lore builder J.K. Rowling is still attached to write the script for the third installment, with no directors currently attached.
