Sony released the final trailer for Morbius starring Jared Leto early this morning. Morbius, whose release date pushed back, is finally set to debut in April. The last look at the newest hero/villain to enter the MCU is chock full of content, and if you blink, you miss it details.
The trailer has it all, from showing Morbius’s complete vampire look to many action-packed scenes and intriguing dialogue. Jared Leto, who is no stranger to comic book characters, is taking on a much different role this time around. Also returning to the MCU is Michael Keaton’s Vulture. Since he was featured a lot in the latest trailer, his role seems to be pretty significant alongside Morbius. Perhaps he will be taking on more of a mentorship role this time around.
We have not seen Vulture since the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming, where he was in prison. Morbius somehow ends up in the same prison as Vulture, and for those Marvel theorists out there, it could also signal Vulture’s return to face-off again with our hero in Spider-Man 4.
Vulture would no longer know Spider-Man’s true identity if that is how this plays out, thanks to Doctor Strange. Spider-Man poster was featured in the teaser trailer, so clearly, some connection to the web crawler is in the film. While the first trailer may not have left the best first impression, the final one does.
March and April are packed full of new releases for fans of all genres. Studios are making up for lost time from the pandemic and want to cash in. Morbius hits theaters on April 1st, and that’s no joke.
