Here’s a picture from A Million Ways to Die in the West, which is Seth MacFarlane’s second directorial effort. It has many qualities such as people, hats and mustaches. You can discern some things from it such as it takes place in the wild west and MacFarlane is starring this time around with, Charlize Theron, Neil Patrick Harris, and Amanda Seyfried.
What you can’t see is, you know, all the stuff like plot or genre (aside from western). You probably guessed it’s a comedy since MacFarlane is the creator. The comedy’s plot pertains to a cowardly farmer whose girlfriend leaves him after he runs away from a gun fight. After this he gets shooting training from an outlaws wife, and once he’s learned how to shoot his old girlfriend comes back, but now he’s also in love with the outlaw’s wife. Then the outlaw returns as well. One can assume comedic things happen during the plot’s unfolding.
I thought Ted was surprisingly decent and a comedy/western is a rarity these days so I’m cautiously optimistic here that we’ll actually be getting something worthwhile.
