This is it, folks. This is what a good chunk of the internet has been waiting for the past two/three years to see. From Michael Bay producing the film, to the “they’re now aliens” rumor, to the extremely bad leaked script, to the weird casting, to the funky looking design leaks, we’ve all wanted to see how Bay’s production of Ninja Turtles would look in motion.
I’m not as big of a fan of the Turtles as some of the other editors here on Flixist are, so I can’t really say much to how well they’re represented in this teaser. But from here it all looks okay. Since the only thing I have to go on from director Johnathan Liebesmen is the lackluster Battle: Los Angeles, I hope TMNT has more to offer than its looks.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles exerts its turtle power August 8th. Here’s the synopsis:
The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.
