The first poster for Paper Towns has been released, courtesy of 20th Century Fox. While the poster alone is horrendously dull, I think the movie deserves your attention.
Like last years The Faults in Our Stars, Paper Towns is an adaptation of a novel by John Green. It’s a coming-of-age story, with a disappearance mystery at its core. Quentin (Nat Wolff) finds his adventurous neighbour (Cara Delevingne) at his doorstep one night, dressed as a ninja, asking for his help. The following day, she is gone, but as certain clues reveal themselves for Quentin, he and his closest friends set out to find her.
It is written by The Fault in Our Stars collaborators, Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, but more importantly is that it is directed by Jake Schreier. Schreier is the man responsible for the 2012 indie-charmer, Robot & Frank, and I for one cannot wait to see where he takes a more mainstream project. I also love the main cast. Nat Wolff was criminally under-appreciated in Gia Coppola’s directorial debut, Palo Alto, and I have yet to meet someone who can resist the charm and playfulness of Cara Delevingne.
