As a young child the strange puppet/stop-motion/animated/paper cutout Paddington Bear show was totally my jam. The books were good too, but that show, with its wonderful narration and unique look enticed me. So it’s with great pleasure that I see this first teaser trailer has somehow captured that same feeling of both the show and the book.
Starring Colin Firth as Paddintong things may go downhill from there. I’m not entirely sure I’m excited for a Paddington Bear that looks more like a real bear than a stuffed animal. I’m also not terribly excited to hear him speak, but I do like that they’ve gone live action with it. Hopefully it lives up to the whimsy and charm that nostalgia has built into my head.
