The Good Dinosaur has had a troubling development for the last few years. Hit with delays, losing a director, and a major reworking, the film we have now no longer resembles the original idea. It’s hard to tell how much of the old ideas are in this new iteration based on this trailer, but I’m digging the cartoonish style. It certainly fits Pixar more than anything.
The Good Dinosaur is a film where Dinosaurs were never wiped out by and asteroid and live alongside humans. An Apatosaurus named Arlo, and a young boy companion, set out on a journey to discover themselves after events rock Arlo’s family. It sounds like a new version of The Land Before Time, so I’m all over it. The Good Dinosaur releases on Thanksgiving Day, making it the first time Pixar has released two movies within a single year after Inside Out hits later this summer.
