It seems documentaries about eccentric filmmakers is the next big thing, as My Life Directed by Nicolas Winding Refn follows suit with last years, Jodorowsky’s Dune, when it premiers to VOD platforms and select theatres on February 27.
Directed by Liv Corfixen, Refn’s wife, the documentary follows the controversial danish director as he works on his most divisive film to date, Only God Forgives, giving us a unique glimpse inside the mind and workings of the man himself. Accompanied by his wife and young daughters, Refn spent six months in Bangkok shooting Ryan Gosling getting beat up by asian police officers and being manipulated by his devilish mother.
From the trailer it will be a honest and uncensored look at Refn’s life, as well as a reflection of his marriage to Corfixen. Either way, it will be interesting to go behind the scenes of Only God Forgives, and the man who made it.
