The worst criticism I can give a film (which my roommate hates) is when I say a film just “exists.” By that, I usually mean the film isn’t good or bad enough to warrant an actual opinion. Through my tenure here I’ve been exposed to a wide variety of films, and the worst I’ve come across were the average ones. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve struggled to tell you about a middle of the road film.
As Flixist’s resident teen film editor, I feel bad saying this, but I really don’t care about this series anymore. I didn’t see Insurgent (though it was good enough to warrant the same score as the first film in the review), so I have no idea what’s going on in the teaser trailer below. I’ve put the synopsis here to help someone who does, but I’m sorry I can’t do more for you. I will say, however, that if some of you are indeed interested, I’ll do my research and be ready for the film when it hits next year because this series is getting churned out quickly.
The Divergent Series: Allegiant releases March 18th next year.
After the earth-shattering revelations of INSURGENT, Tris must escape with Four and go beyond the wall enclosing Chicago. For the first time ever, they will leave the only city and family they have ever known in order to find a peaceful solution for their embroiled city. Once outside, old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless with the revelation of shocking new truths. Tris and Four must quickly decide who they can trust as a ruthless battle ignites beyond the walls of Chicago which threatens all of humanity. In order to survive, Tris will be forced to make impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love.
