Adorable animals doing wacky things? That sounds like a bonafide hit to me, and with the team behind Despicable Me making it it may actually be good. The Secret Lives of Pets follows the basic premise of all good children’s fare: animals can talk and they’re funny. Pretty basic.
While nothing that occurs in this video is super secret I’m pretty sure that doesn’t matter. Illumination knows how to make dumb characters work as is evidenced by the minions. The cast for the film ain’t too shabby either sporting one of those fantastically long list of famous people that animated films always do. Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet, Kevin Hart, Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Jenny Slate, Bobby Moynihan, Hannibal Burress and Albert Brooks all voice characters. You get the feeling that animated films just stick their head out the door in Hollywood and yell for any famous people around to come voice something.
