The harrowing horror and moral quandries of creating life are central to the story of Frankenstein, unless you’re talking about modern adaptations. Then it’s about action and super powers. The latest “re-interpretation” of the story sees James McAvoy as Dr. Frankenstein and Daniel Radcliffe as the sexiest Igor ever.
As you can tell from the trailer they’ve basically gone all action blockbuster here. There’s plenty of one-liners and chase sequences so if you’re looking for something loyal to the subject matter this isn’t your film. One has to wonder what Universal and their Monster Universe has to think about someone else hopping onto the monster action movie train.
I do have to give them credit for the Young Frankenstein reference.
