Arcade Fire is back, and they’ve got themselves a mirrorball and some papier mache. Their new album Reflektor (produced by James Murphy of the late LCD Soundsystem) will be out on October 28th, and they’ve just released a music video for the album’s title track. The video was directed by Anton Corbjin, who directed the Ian Curtis biopic Control.
In addition to this long music video, there’s an interactive video for “Reflektor” that you can access by visiting justareflektor.com. This “virtual projection” by Vincent Morisset uses cues from your smartphone, webcam, or mouse to add visual distortions to the imagery. It’s pretty spiffy.
One last bit of Arcade Fire news: the band is doing the score for Spike Jonze’s Her. We’ll be catching Her at the New York Film Festival, and we’ll have first impressions and a full review for you as part of our coverage. Stay tuned.
