Requiem for a Dream was one of those movies that really hit me when I first saw it in 2000. There was Darren Aronofsky’s bravura as a filmmaker coupled with the intensity of emotion and observation in the book by the late great Hubert Selby, Jr. (If you haven’t read Selby before, pick up a copy of Requiem for a Dream or Last Exit to Brooklyn now.)
And so here’s a recreation of the film with puppets. It’s nicely done and pretty damn funny, but you know, it makes me think of the actual movie and that makes me feel kind of down. (Is that weird? Yeah, it’s probably weird.) You Jim Henson superfans, keep your eyes open for a Wontkins cameo.
