So watching this short has just made me exceedingly happy! The Legacy, a Superman-inspired short from Mike Doto, won the Best Comics Film prize at Comic-Con 2010, and while it’s been around the Internet for a little bit, this is the first I’ve seen it. “Kryptoman,” one of the world’s most recognizable superhero characters, is finally seeing a film made about him twenty years after the last failed attempt. When the son of the actor playing Kryptoman discovers who his father is, there’s a bit of a case of mistaken identity. It’s a really fun, heartwarming short paying a lot of tribute to Superman, and it certainly brightening my day a bit!
It’s sad to think that Zack Snyder’s upcoming Superman reboot won’t have half the heart this twelve-minute short has, and there’s only a single slow-mo shot in here.
