Here’s a bit of DIY horror for the fans among us. With some Dollar Store Jigsaw voice-over, a pack of GoPros, and a group of friends we have the SOV horror For Jennifer. Between this, Jennifer’s Body, and Dario Argento’s Jennifer, that seems to be an unlucky as hell name to have for the genre.
From director Jody Barton, For Jennifer sees Jennifer, a horror movie fanatic, survive a shocking accident. After she recovers, her friends decide to cheer her up by bringing her dreams of making a horror film to life. As they begin filming, however, segments of similar low-budget horror films start to intersect with their own. As Jennifer tries to unravel where these other Jennifer-based horror flicks came from, she uncovers a startling secret that puts her and all of her friends in genuine danger–which they’ll have to suffer if they want to make a good horror film.
This could make for a twisty and fun slice of meta-horror, and if you find yourself in the mood, you can check out For Jennifer on VOD today.
