Game of Death (not that one) will plow its guts-strewn pizza car through your screens this summer

Summer is a time for loving… and murder!

That’s what a group of young people find out when they decide to play an innocent skull-covered board game. They thought they were in for a good time with booze and buds, but then the game started to demand death, and now if they don’t kill someone soon, their heads are going to explode. I’m a big fan of exploding heads, so this is cool. Will they turn on each other to survive? Chances are absolutely, because exploding heads are a pretty good motivational tool.

This looks plenty gory and fun, and I’m into the 90’s electronics styling of the skull game and the film’s pixel art title card–though I would’ve picked a different title myself. I mean, choosing a moniker that automatically evokes Bruce Lee’s final classic in people’s minds (and across search engines) doesn’t seem like the wisest choice. Game of Death ought to be added to the list of titles that just shouldn’t be used anymore. These names tend to be fairly generic, anyhow. I mean, this could’ve been called Board Game Bloodbath, but what do I know?

It is a shame, since this flick does look like a killer good time, and I don’t want it to get lost before you can boot up this game of popping heads and bloody bodies for yourself when Game of Death plays on VOD and in theaters on July 3, 2020.
