Genndy Tartakovsky’s a genius. We can all agree to that, right? Samurai Jack is a modern classic of animation, and the slightly-overshadowed Clone Wars series he did might be relegated to the non-canon, non-Disney expanse of Star Wars content, but for my money its some of the best there is of the galaxy far, far away. So it goes without saying that I’m amped for Primal.
Premiering October 7 as part of a “5 night premiere event,” Primal is Tartakovsky’s latest animation, seeming to be the violent-flip to the kid-friendly-flop of his recent feature Hotel Transylvania 3. Featuring brutal early-man violence and a decidedly-bleak tone, Primal is looking to be distilled-style, clear in this latest trailer.
You’ve got the brutalization of a mammoth, our heroic lead caveman riding a dinosaur, gore-‘splosions and more. It. Looks. Awesome. We don’t have long to wait, with Primal debuting midnight, October 7th, only on Adult Swim.
