In the grand world of questions asked while pointing a revolver at someone, “You enjoy killing innocent people?” doesn’t quite have the same punch as “Do you feel lucky, punk?” Maybe it’s that in the above trailer, Guy Pearce doesn’t call the biker-turned-bank robber any hurtful names. I don’t know, but it’s definitely missing something.
That’s basically my feeling throughout the whole trailer. Sure, bullets are firing from guns, cars are exploding, people are engaging in C-grade fisticuffs–but it’s all missing something. Every moment of this trailer lacks that extra kick that pumps your average action flick full of adrenaline. Maybe the feature will fare better, but as it stands I’m not as excited to see Guy Pearce stop a no-mask-wearing gang of bikers from robbing a bank in broad daylight. That’s a shame.
Maybe it’s just a bad trailer, though. We’ll know for sure when Disturbing the Peace hits theaters and VOD on January 17, 2020.
