The Woman in Black did pretty well for Hammer Films (over $110 million) and got some good reviews. So you know what that means: time to capitalize on success with some sequels!
Hammer Films, Alliance Films, Cross Creek Pictures, and the original author Susan Hills are all working on The Woman in Black: Angels of Death. The plan is to make a creature feature that lends itself to multiple sequels. The sequel will follow a new couple moving into the mansion from the original movie, 40 years after the original events transpired. Jon Croker is working on the script, having moved up from story editor on the first film.
I’m getting the feeling that, years from now, people will look back more fondly on the first film and sigh at all the sequels, just like so many horror series.
