I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: You need to watch Tigers Are Not Afraid. It’s wonderful and magical and haunting and horrible, and with our steadily deteriorating political climate at the boarder it’s only become more prescient over the past year. Here’s a trailer. Watch it–and then watch the whole movie. Thanks.
As I stated when news broke that Shudder had scored the rights to the film, I really wanted Tigers Are Not Afraid to get some kind of theatrical release (even a one-night-only sort of deal, like Mandy) so that it wouldn’t be strapped entirely to the streaming service. I’m happy to say this is the case as it will have a (likely pretty limited) theatrical release in August just before it hits the streaming service proper.
Whatever screen you decide to see this on, however, it’s a sad and disturbing fairy tale that will stick with you long after its credits roll.
