By While we were stuck in Oscar mania, another set of awards took place a few nights beforehand. The 33rd Golden Raspberry Awards handed out “awards” to “winners” in ten categories ranging from Worst Actor to Worst Remake, Rip-Off, or Sequel (that category is voted through a Rotten Tomatoes poll).
Unsurprisingly to no one (except me since I liked it when I reviewed it) Twilight 5 took home seven awards with 11 nominations in the ten categories. That’s My Boy took Worst Actor and Screenplay (with no surprise since it involved Vanilla Ice and incest), while Battleship won for some reason. I can understand the Twilight hate, but I don’t understand the overwhelming amount. Sure you can dislike the saga, but it’s nowhere near the worst film of 2012 (Remember The Raven? Or Act of Valor?).
