The absolutely wonderful romantic comedy anime Hi Score Girl is getting a second season. Already into production at J.C. Staff, the second season will feature the return of the voice cast from the first and a continuation to Haruo and Akira’s budding relationship. It also looks set to feature a lot more Guile from Street Fighter, which is something everyone needs in their lives.
The series will return in October in Japan for an undisclosed amount of episodes. Since Netflix has international distribution rights, it will likely air sometime in December in the US (just like the first season). If you haven’t taken a chance and watched Hi Score Girl yet, change that. It tells an incredible story about how the shared love of a hobby can break down the barriers that stand between each other. Even if you have no interest in gaming, the quality of the writing is truly special.
