Hivemind’s Gideon Falls adaptation to be co-produced by James Wan

Hivemind, the production company behind Netflix’s The Witcher and The Expanse, has been chipping away at a series adaptation of Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino’s brilliant Image comic Gideon Falls. Today the production got a big boost from a big name.

James Wan (AquamanThe Conjuring) along with his production company Atomic Monster have joined on to co-produce the horror series.

Gideon Falls centers around the titular city, wherein the hallucinogenic and ominous visions of “The Black Barn,” which is what it sounds like, begin to disturb the residents of the area. Soon things unravel from visions to things more material, with the stories of a recluse obsessed with discovering occult symbols in the city’s trash and a visiting, weary Catholic priest spiraling into the realm of horror and maybe… science-fiction?

Gideon Falls, the series, is being developed as an hour-long program. More details on the production to be announced. James Wan, meanwhile, is involved with several in-production projects; he’s producing the upcoming Mortal Kombat film, chipping away in secret on an Aquaman follow-up, and producing all sorts of new, spooky things.
