Last week we gave you the trailer for The Dictator, the latest from Sacha Baron Cohen. In it he plays General Admiral Alladeen, a dictator from the Republic Of Wadiya. (I wonder if it neighbors Freedonia.) With the passing of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-il over the weekend, the character Alladeen has released the following statement through the Republic of Wadiya’s Twitter account:
OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM HIS EXCELLENCY ADMIRAL GENERAL ALADEEN – SUPREME LEADER, ALL TRIUMPHANT GENERAL AND CHIEF OPTHAMOLOGIST OF PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF WADIYA
I am saddened to learn of the passing of my dear friend Kim Jong-Il. Our thoughts go out to his wife and 813 children. “K-Jo” was a great leader, good friend and average double’s badminton partner. He died as he lived, in 3-inch lifts. An extraordinary man, he did so much to spread compassion, wisdom and uranium throughout the world.
On behalf of myself, Ahmadinejad, Chavez and Newt Gingrinch, we would like to welcome his son, Kin Jong Un into the “Axis of Evil”
One day Flixist may look at the movies of North Korea during Kim Jong-il’s reign. Some were made by Shin Sang-ok, a South Korean director whom Il had kidnapped and imprisoned in North Korea for eight years. In the meantime, we have a mournful tribute to the late dictator, madman, and international whoremonger after the cut.
