According to a new report from Variety, the Marvel animated series Tigra & Dazzler, which was set to premiere on Hulu, has been put on indefinite hold. The reason for this delay is that the showrunner and the entire writing staff have left over creative disputes with Marvel. The project isn’t being forgotten, but Marvel will now need to replace most of the staff associated.
Back in February of this year, Hulu had announced it would be hosting four different Marvel animated series. Those included the aforementioned Tigra & Dazzler, Howard the Duck, Hit Monkey, and M.O.D.O.K. We haven’t heard anything else about these projects, save for this recent shakeup.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise, though, since these animated shows were spearheaded by Jeph Loeb. Having now left Marvel, it makes sense that the company would want to shift his vision for what Tigra & Dazzler was. It likely conflicted with the staff and caused them to leave.
We aren’t likely to hear more about this until 2020, so fans will just need to pray that Marvel can sort out this mess.
